for the gold extraction
Both plots 13km and 101km have significant potential for the gold extraction, based on their location relative to other major gold producers in the Republic of Guinea.
AngloGold Ashanti Ltd.’s Siguiri Gold Mine
AngloGold’s (AngloGold Ashanti Ltd – NYSE) mining land is neighboring the south side of the 13km gold mine and the east side of the 101 km gold mine.
AngloGold’s first gold shipment was in 1998 and as of December 2011 the mine had a proven and probable gold reserve of 2.7 million oz.(126 million tonnes grading 0.67 gt gold). The total reserves and resources was 8.81 million oz.
Gold is recovered by carbon-in-puulp( CIP) and heap leaching on run of mine material. The plant capacity was increased to 10.4 million tonnes in 2009.
Nord Gold’s Lefa Gold Mine
The LEFA Gold Mine (Nord Gold N.V. – LSE) is located approximately 125 km west of the 13km gold mine and 19 km west of the 101km gold mine.
The initial production from pisolitic laterite started in 1999 and ocide mineralization was added during 2000. Production from various open pits( Fayala, Karta, Kankarta, and Banko) continued over the next 8 years. The CIP circuit was intiated in 2008 and by 2011 the mine operated at 10,000 to 15,000 tonnes per day with a combined production for the 4 years of 756,000 oz(23.5 tonnes) of gold.
In 2012 the CIP circuit was replaced by carbon-in-leach (CIL) with production for the year of 171,900 oz (5.3 tonnes) gold. Production for 2013 was estimated at 310,000 oz(9.6 tonnes) gold.

SEMAFO Inc.’s Kiniero Gold Mine
The Kienero Gold Mine (SEMAFO Inc – TSX) is located 180 km South-west of the 13km gold mine and 110 km south of the 101km gold mine.
Mining started in 2002 and have since produced 409,000 oz (12.7 tonnes) of gold. Resources as of December 2008 was 11.0 million tonnes with a gold grade of 1.89 g/t for 905,000 contained oz (28.1 tonnes) of gold. Mining has been done from 15 attached and isolated open pits within an area of 1.5 by 2.3 km.
Annual production has ranged from a high of 61,864 oz (1.92 tonnes) of gold in 2005 to a low of 13,600 oz (0.42 tonnes) of gold in 2012. Production costs were $648/oz in 2012 down from $898/oz the year before.
Burey Gold Ltd.’s Mansounia Gold Project
Burey Gold Ltd’s (ASX) Mansounia Gold Project is 175 km southwest of the 13km gold mine and approximately 110 km south of the 101km gold mine.
Large tonnage, low grade gold mineralization with a near-surface sheet-like laterite and oxide resource. 2012 indicated and inferred mineral resource estimate of 1.3 million oz(40 tonnes) of gold. The resources are divided between 0.72 million oz (22.4 tonnes) gold laterite and oxide resources and 0.58 million oz(17.9 tonnes) of gold transition and sulphide mineralization.
The mineralization was traced to a depth of 220 m by reverse circulation and diamind drilling. The resources are still open with potential for increase with additional drilling. Gold is generally very fine grained and associated with quartz veins and sulphides ( pyrite, chalcopyrite, sphalerite and galena).
Cassidy Gold Corp.’s Kouroussa Gold Project
Cassidy Gold Corp.’s (TSX-V) Kouroussa Gold Project is located approximately 140 km south-west of the 13km gold mine and approximately 95 km south of the 101km gold mine.
Hosted within the Siguiri Basin of the Birimian Greenstone Belt. Project cover in-situ lateritic plateous on topographic highs and alluvial deposits in the topographic lows. Mineralization in characteristic of Birimian-style mineralization, structurally controlled with silica-sericite-carbonate-pyrite-arsenopyrite alteration. Mineralization is hodted in quarts veins or quartz veined fracture zones (breccais).
